Polish Pair Joins the F-Team
Funkitas have been floating around in Poland for over a decade, having surfaced there soon after the brand first began. Swimming is incredibly popular in a country which wouldn’t be considered top of the list for taking a dip. In recent years with the introduction of ISL and the strength of major European swimming competition, more Polish swimmers are taking to the world stage and Funkita is excited to now sponsor two rising Polish stars who have their eyes set on international success.

Anna Traczyk is one of our new Funkettes on the block. The rising star is based out of MKS Juvenia Wroclaw. Anna is a bronze-medallist at the national level in Poland, in the Women's 200m Backstroke. "I am always aiming for more in my swimming," says Anna. "I train every day at 6am, and the second training of the day begins with land training and then swimming again."
Structure and professionalism appear to be the model for yielding success in Anna's training program. Her relentless work ethic and sacrifice are seeping into her extra-curricular life, as one of her biggest hobbies away from the pool is running.

Joining Anna on the F-Team is Julia Maik who trains in Kalisz at the swimming club KKS Wlokniarz 1925 Kalisz 2. Julia is a sprinter who focusses mainly on the 50m and 100m Freestyle and Butterfly events. 2021 was a big year for Julia, having won the 100m Freestyle at the 2021 National Championships.
The Polish champion has big goals for 2022, setting her sights on qualifying for European Championships and other international short course competitions. There's no rest for Julia, even during the off season. To keep fit when she's not swimming Julia enjoys playing football and fills her time with anything related to sport!

We are thrilled to have such talented Polish swimmers join the F-Team and can't wait to see them reach their goals in 2022 and beyond. Be sure to keep up with their swimming achievements via their socials Julia @maiczeek and Anna @annatraczykk.
