UK F-Teamers break British Records

Funkita F-Teamers Imogen Clark and Molly Renshaw crowned themselves Britain's breaststroke queens at the ASA National Winter meet in December. The funkettes not only blitzed their events, they smashed numerous records doing so.

On the first day of competition, 16-year-old Clark, broke the oldest women's British short course record in the 50m event. The F-Teamer touched the wall in a blistering time of 30.02 to secure the gold medal.

In the 200m breaststroke Renshaw showed her form as she touched the wall four seconds ahead of second place in a new British record time of 2.18.44 - a time that would have won gold at the European short course champs just weeks before. In a race dominated by funkettes, Renshaw's fellow F-Teamer and double World Junior Champion, Katie Matts, took home silver.

Day 3 saw another British record tumble in the 100m breaststroke. Sprinter Imogen and distance specialist Molly battled it out for 1st place but it was Molly that claimed gold and another record clocking 1.05.22! Again, it was a race of the F-Teamers with Molly, Imogen and Katie all finishing on the podium and swimming personal best times.

After a very successful meet for all three girls, the funkettes now begin their long course training in the lead up to Olympic trials. Suffice to say these three are worth keep a close eye on in the build up to Rio.
