British Summer Champs Wrap-Up

One of the biggest meets on the British calendar; the British Summer Championships were held last week in Sheffield and the podium was full of our very own F-Teamers! There were so many great swims by our girls making finals and winning medals left, right and centre! Go Funkettes! We had a few stand out performers from the week.

Tain Bruce our butterfly queen came home with two gold medals, winning the 50 and 100 butterfly events for her age group.

Katie Matts won the 200 breast, 3 seconds ahead of her competition in a blistering time of 2.28.03.

The Funkita girls really showed their dominance in the freestyle events at the champs. Georgie Boyle leading the way finishing the meet with a gold, silver and bronze in the 200, 400 and 100 free respectively. That's a lot of bling!

16 year old Darcy Deakin won her first national title in the 50 free and in the 15 years age group Maddie Crompton took home the gold in the 200 free.

Rosie is excited to get back into the pool

To round up the freestyler's Rosie Bancroft touched the wall first in the Womens MC 400 freestyle. Although a little off her PB, Rosie said she was happy with the result and was excited to get back into training for next season! We can't forget our newest F-Teamer Imogen Clarke who had an extraordinary meet. The speedster won the 50 breast in a European record time of 31.04! Woah! Imogen also won the 50 butterfly and broke the British age group record. Other medal winning F-Teamers were Olivia White, Candice Hall and Abbie Wood. Well done to all our UK F-Teamers!
